Leica EM TP4C

Automatic tissue processor for resin processing of mineralized tissue

Overview

The Leica EM TP4 C Automatic Tissue Processor, for resin processing of mineralized tissue, has been adapted especially for the Technovit 9100 new (Heraeus Kulzer) resin embedding system for fast, fully automated processing at room temperature and at +4°C.

Resin is the preferred embedding medium for undecalcified iliac crest biopsies as well as specific organ biopsies such as testicular and renal, selected regions of lymph nodes, lymphomata and fine-needle biopsies

Key Features

  • Cost savings
  • Manual steps are kept to a minimum
  • Reduced chemical exposure

Leica EM TP4C An automatic cooling system adjusts the temperature of the reagents to the preset value of +4°C. Pre-cooling ensures the correct temperature of the reagents before they come in contact with the tissue. This is an important precondition for the quality of resin embedding
Leica EM TP4C Up to 99 programs can be stored via the clearly structured membrane keypad.
Each program contains: the number of the reagent vial and designation of the reagent. embedding parameters such as specimen agitation, holding time and temperature. The temperatures RT (room temperature) and LT (cooled) can be specified.
The fixation, dehydration and immersion is performed automatically via twelve 100 ml reagent vials.
The cooling unit automatically adjusts the temperature of the reagents to the preset value. The cassette holder with 4 specimen cassettes is attached to an arm capable of moving vertically to permit the preset agitation of the specimens if required. Each container features a separate, replaceable lid to ensure optimal sealing to protect the user and substantially reduce the evaporation of reagents. The chamber is also equipped with an exhaust system.
